Sound of Intaglio® is the authentication technology using image processing that was created for validating authentic banknotes based on the uniquely secure intaglio print. This one-of-its-kind patented technology was previously exclusive for forensic intelligence and examinations. It is now also available for banknote authentication at point of sale (PoS). Take the lead with this innovative technology capable to instantly validate the banknotes before you accept them.

Today, the Sound of Intaglio® technology allows detection of genuine Intaglio print through the analysis of 2D images using the state of the art wavelet transform. It was developed as a result of the joint Sound of Intaglio® research program at KBA-NotaSys and the Institute Industrial IT - inIT of Technische Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe (TH OWL). The technology is integrated in the Document Analysis and Classification System (DACS), a stand-alone laboratory device for analysis, description and classification of banknote counterfeits. Sound of Intaglio® is commercialised in cooperation with coverno GmbH, Germany (a company of Koenig & Bauer AG and Technische Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe).
